Modern aspects of development of basic therapy and prevention means of organophosphorus compounds acute poisoning (review of literature)

Introduction. Despite large experience in the use of basic therapies for acute poisoning by organophosphorus compounds (OPs)of anticholinesterase action and results research conducted world, current methods treatment such poisonings are insufficient do not meet requirements effective health. Purpose. Based on analysis scientific publications to outline main directions modern developments drugs therapy prevention OPs at stages their experimental assessment. Methods. A systematic content literature data using PubMed database was performed. Results. Modern principles pharmacotherapy based anticholinergic (mainly atropine), cholinesterase reactivators anticonvulsant action. M-cholinolytic remains a mandatory component poisoning. Today, is aimed finding less toxic M-cholinolytics with wider range therapeutic effects. reactivator has yet been developed that spectrum able prevent central effects The effectiveness combined AChE also insufficiently studied. One approach solving problem protecting nervous system may be find combination peripheral neuroprotectors capable overcoming blood-brain barrier. development agents requires further study mechanism status epilepticus Conclusions. There an intensive search treatments around world. But time relevance importance implementing unified methodology studying efficacy wide pharmacological stage preclinical evaluation. Efforts means pharmacologically correcting should accompanied more prudent regulatory policy field pesticide use. It necessary create clear consistent information measures would focus dangers OPs, as well contribute mental disorders provoke suicidal consequences.
